Boxed in and bundled up
we belong
in a jigsaw image of
the waterfront
bodies pieced together from
a bunch of smaller parts.
I spent five days looking east and saw
the sunrise over Utah
carved one letter from our names into
the sandstone of the tallest rock
I can't tell if I'm lucky or
if I can't catch a break
but either way she waits so patient for me
it's not just a game my baby waits.
My baby waits
but baby won't wait for me
not one more day.
Fireside, two bodies hide
inside of knitted sweaters.
Biting wind, a world away.
No concern for other parties.
sworn to hold, bound to sway.
